Is The King’s Man a prequel?

Yes. Matthew Vaughn has been teasing the idea of an origin prequel for some time. The project was originally titled Kingsman: The Great Game, but has now landed with the name, The King’s Man. Set in the early 1900’s, it will show us how the Kingsman intelligence service we know and love was founded.

What is The King’s Man about?

In the film, the Duke of Oxford (Ralph Fiennes) and his protégé must stop a group of historical tyrants from starting a war that will wipe out millions. We can assume these two are among the first operatives to come out of Kingsman.

Who is the bad guy?

Although the mad monk Rasputin (Rhys Ifans) features quite prominently in the trailer, we can see that he’s actually taking orders from Captain Morgan (Matthew Goode), who is referred to as ‘The Shepherd’, and he addresses a room of historical tyrants as ‘his flock.’ So Morgan is definitely the main villain.
